One of London’s most well-known and appealing markets. Columbia road overflows with buckets full of beautiful flowers, plants, fresh herbs, bulbs and shrubs every Sunday from 8 am – 3 pm. Make sure to pop into one of the independent stores along the road to find unique keepsake gifts and items to make your room more like home.
Take a dip in one of London's famous lidos or venture north for a pond swim with leafy views of Hampstead Heath. With cute streets, fancy boutiques, coffee shops and the magical Hampstead Pergola next door with its overgrown vines and flowers. It’s the perfect place to relax from city life and studying.
Kew Gardens is home to the world’s leading botanical garden in southwest London. Enjoy your day by taking a walk through the greenhouse, wandering around the grounds, spotting roses in bloom and seeking out colourful flower gardens.
Head down to Holland Park to relax in the picturesque Japanese garden with its vibrant plants and soothing water features. The perfect spot to relax and enjoy the summer sun. Fun fact - Kyoto Garden was opened in 1991 and was a gift from Kyoto to celebrate the long friendship between Japan and Great Britain.
Little Venice is one of London’s secret gems – filled with colourful houseboats and charming waterside cafes. Tucked away between two canals, the Great Union Canal and Regent’s Canal. Taking a boat trip in Little Venice is practically a rite of passage and deserves a spot on your list of things to do this summer. In an area best known for its beautiful waterways, it’s no surprise that exploring it by boat is an absolute must.
London Bus Tours
Discover London’s most iconic landmarks on a famously known bus tour. Climb aboard an iconic double-decker bus and take in the incredible sights of this fabulous city.
Take a sunny walk-up Primrose Hill and witness the extraordinary views of Regent's Park and London's skyline. If you're looking for the perfect shot, don’t miss the William Blake quote etched into the stone at the canopy: “I have conversed with the spiritual sun. I saw him on Primrose Hill.
The lovely London beach you can get to on the tube, behold the golden sands of Ruislip Lido. Ruislip Lido is a 60-acre lake sat on the edge of a lovely 726-acre nature reserve – that’s twice the size of Hyde Park. It’s an indisputably cute reason to push your Oyster Card to the limits and head out to Zone 6 and it’s only an hour from central London.
Grab a blanket, pack a picnic with your favourite snacks and head to the iconic Richmond Park. Take a relaxing walk through the reserve and relax in the sun. You might be lucky enough to spot one of the many deer that live there.
