The Tower of London is one of the city’s premier attractions. Founded at the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England, it has serviced as a royal palace, prison, armoury and even a zoo. Within its fortified vaults, it currently houses the Crown Jewels, and historic uniformed Beefeaters stroll the grounds.
Operating since the 1750s, Petticoat Lane is London’s world famous Sunday market, mainly selling bric a brac and clothes for men, women, children, in fact everything you could possibly think of plus some. The market is held in and around Middlesex Street on Sundays, with a smaller market open on Wentworth Street from Monday to Friday.
Much-loved family run Punjabi restaurant serving aromatic, spicy dishes in a no-frills, contemporary interior. This fun, full-on and cheerfully cheap curry house that enjoys mythical status among Londoners and should be on the bucket list of everyone living in the capital.

You are welcome to have guests through the daytime, and an overnight guest for a fair and reasonable length, to be decided by the team on site. Your guests will need to check in with the reception team, and you will need to remain with them at all times, as you will be responsible for them during their stay. Please note, you will need written consent from management if you overnight guest is under 18 years of age.
All Chapter residents need to be over 18 from the time of moving in. This is due to the legally binding tenancy agreement that each resident is required to sign before arrival. We have no upper age limits on our accommodation, so long as the resident is in full time education for the duration of their stay.
In the UK, students are exempt from paying council tax – you won’t need to pay this, but if the council do mistakenly bill you, you will need to provide details to prove that you are in full time education.
If you bring your own TV, or want to watch or record programmes as they are shown live (including on mobile phones, tablets or computers), you will need to apply and pay for a TV License. Any TV’s provided by Chapter, either in a shared living space or communal area will have a TV License sorted.
If you’re having any problems with your room, a shared living space, or one of the communal areas, you have two options. You can log the issue using the Active Building resident portal, providing details so our maintenance team can get this sorted for you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can come down to your reception and talk to a member of staff so we can log it on your behalf.
We want your university experience to be as positive as possible – if you are having any issues with flat mates, please let us know. We will do our best to help resolve any problems you might be having.
Each flat has a lockable mailbox on the ground floor, and you can collect the key from reception when you've received post. We can collect and sign for any larger packages, and let you know so you can collect them from reception. You will need to provide photo ID to confirm collection. Post will not be given out to other residents on your behalf without written authorisation. We are also unable to receive perishable goods like groceries or takeaway deliveries.
Two people can share some of the bigger studios at our properties, which will add an additional £50 per week to the rent. Please contact us directly if this is something you’d like to organise this. Please note, both inhabitants need to be full time students, studying at least 20 hours per week.
All rooms come with a bed, desk and chair. Extras such as kettles, toasters and lamps vary property to property, room to room. Please check the room details on the website or contact the relevant property directly to find out what will be included in the room you have booked.
Unfortunately, we are only able to offer accommodation to people in full time education, studying a minimum of 20 hours per week. We can also accommodate students on internships and sandwich courses, on the provision that the placement is directly related to your course of study, and you will be returning to full time study when it finishes. If you are not sure whether you qualify, please contact the sales team.
