I have really enjoyed my time at Chapter. The staff are very warm, friendly and helpful. Their personal attention have really made a difference, and I can't recommend them or the place enough. In short, they are gems. I recommend it without reservation, and if I ever find myself studying in London again it will be my undoubtedly be my first port of call.

Having stayed at a room in the property since the start of the year, I must say I have been thoroughly impressed by the superior customer service of every member of the staff concerned and the immense comfort and convenience. In particular, Egle and Jaime have proven to be more than managers - they genuinely make the effort to care for and increase the well being of each of the residents on your property.

The roof top is very nice, I hang out with my friends there a lot. The building is very tall, so if you're on a higher floor you get a great view from your room and also the sky lounge. The staff are also really friendly and helpful.

It's quite close to UCL making it easy for me as I like to walk to get to lectures and it's close to Euston and Kings Cross as well, so it's great for me when I want to explore London. And I just like to walk to school. The management team are always kind and lovely. I like the size of the bed.

FAQ

Do I need to have a UK based guarantor?

A guarantor can be anyone who is not a full time student, and they do not need to be a UK resident. Your guarantor will take responsibility for any unpaid arrears during your tenancy period.

Can I pay my booking fee over the phone?

If you’re having problems booking online don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to help. If needed, payment can be made over the phone.

Is there an age limit for booking accommodation with Chapter?

We have no upper age limits on our accommodation; however, we do need residents to be over 18 for England and Scotland, and in full time education. This is due to the legally binding tenancy agreement that each tenant is required to sign before living with us.

How secure is the accommodation?

We have CCTV in and around each property, an electronic key fob entry system for the main entrance, common areas, each flat and bedroom. There are also spy holes in each flat and bedroom door, intercom in the flat, 24/7 on site staff and a 24/7 mobile number.

Do I have to pay council tax?

Students don’t have to pay council tax in the UK, however, payment exemption doesn’t happen automatically so you will need to inform the council that you’re a student. As your accommodation provider we cannot do this on your behalf, you must apply for council tax exemption yourself.

Do I need a TV Licence?

All TV's provided by Chapter have licences. If you bring your own TV or if you want to watch or record programmes as they are being shown on any other device, such as your mobile phone, tablet or computer, you will need a TV Licence.

What if something in my flat breaks or isn’t working?

Let us know as soon as you can, either by email or by visiting reception. Our onsite team are here to help 24/7.

Can I have pets?

No, pets are not allowed under the terms of your tenancy agreement.

What happens if I don’t get on with my new flat mates?

We want your university experience to be a good one so if you are having any issues with flat mates please let us know. We will do our best to help resolve any problems you might be having.

Can I receive post and parcels?

Yes, your flat has its own lockable mailbox in our mailroom. You will receive your mailbox key when you arrive. If a parcel arrives for you we’ll let you know by leaving a ‘parcel collection’ note in your mailbox. You can then collect your parcel from reception. For security you will need to provide photo ID and give a signature to confirm collection. Post will not be given out to other residents on your behalf without written authorisation.

Can I live with my friends?

We are more than happy to accommodate groups as well as individuals, simply let us know who you’re planning to live with and providing we have the availability it shouldn’t be a problem.

Am I allowed to live with a partner? How much will it cost?

Two people can share the bigger studios at select properties, there is an additional rent of £50 per week for dual occupancy. Please contact the property or sales team to organise this. Please note, both inhabitants need to be full time students, studying at least 20 hours per week.

What appliances and furniture are included in my room?

All rooms come with a bed, desk and chair. Extras such as kettles, toasters and lamps vary property to property, room to room. Please check the room details on the website or contact the site directly to find out what will be included in the room you have booked.

I’m not a student. Am I allowed to stay in a Chapter property?

Unfortunately, we are only able to offer accommodation to people in full time education, studying a minimum of 20 hours per week. We can also accommodate students on internships and sandwich courses, on the provision that the placement is directly related to your course of study, and you will be returning to full time study when it finishes. If you are not sure whether you qualify, please contact the sales team.

When will I have to make my payments?

The due dates for payments for the 1,2 and 4 instalment plans will be as follows: 1 payment, due 31/07/2017 | 2 payments, due 31/07/2017 & 09/01/2018 | 4 payments, due 31/07/2017, 03/10/2017, 09/01/2018 & 17/04/2018

Please note we do not accept American Express and there is a 2.5% charge on credit card payment and some international payment platforms. You can also make a payment through a bank transfer, via a company called Pay to Study.

What’s included in the price?

All your bills – Water, Electric, Gas, Internet, Gym and use of all the social spaces – are included in the price. There are no hidden charges, what you see on your contract is what you pay!
