For a Caffeine Fix – Vagabond N7

You’re not short of choice for a decent cup of coffee at Chapter Highbury, which you’ll notice as you walk up and down Holloway road. Vagabond is a great place for enthusiasts – they change their speciality coffee once a week. It’s a beautiful setting for your morning cappuccino – Vagabond has a perfectly executed shabby-chic interior and a lovely garden out the back for when the sun’s out.

For Sweet Treats – Udderlicious 

This aptly named ice-cream parlour serves the most delicious treats, and they’re all handmade from scratch in-store. They run a ‘Flavour of the month’ competition, which allows you to dictate which tastes they stock for the next month. For the adventurous amongst you, there’s a Chocolate and Marmite flavour – hate it or love it? 

For a Scenic Walk - Highbury Fields 

At nearly 29 acres of greenery, Highbury Fields is the largest park in the Borough of Islington. Why don't you take a stroll around this tranquil and surprisingly secluded park. The perfect spot for a picnic in the sun or maybe even a few games of rounders if you felt like you wanted to be active.

For a Photo Op – Emirates Stadium 

Even if you’re not an Arsenal fan, the impressive Emirates stadium definitely warrants a look around. You’ve got a few options for a great photo here: you could visit the museum and snap some of the classic arsenal strips and hardware on display. Or there’s the statue of the legendary Thierry Henry out front – compelling for any football fan, regardless of where your loyalties lie. 

For a Tasty Beverage – The Lamb 

It’s a little dark and dingy from the outside, but friendly, welcoming and fiercely traditional inside. This is a proper pub – no gimmicks or pretension here; just cold local beer and a fantastic atmosphere. Added bonus: there’s a very good chance you’ll see at least one snoozing dog here and plenty of Irish craic.

For a Chance to Dance – Barrio Angel

Get ready for some South American vibes from this bar, with a fantastic cocktail menu. If you’re into Latin, soul, or old school hip hop, this is the place for you to move your feet. Be warned, this space isn’t massive, so it can get pretty crowded, but the atmosphere and fantastic DJs make it worth getting a little up close and personal. 

For the Culture-Vultures – The Estorick Collection 

This amazing space is set in a beautiful Georgian building, and offers the best in Modern Italian art, with 6 different exhibitions spread over 3 floors. It’s £6.50 to get in, but students get free entry with an NUS ID card which you should be able to get from your university. Definitely worth a wander round to take in some culture on a lazy Sunday afternoon. 

For Live Music – The Garage 

There’s a great mix of live music and varied club nights on here. From heavy metal bands to niche club nights such as ‘The Great British Drake Off’, we’re confident you’ll find something that takes your fancy. It's got a max capacity of 600 people, so it’s nice and intimate in here when you get a chance to see your favourite bands. 

For Food on the Go – Le Rif Café 

Le Rif specialises in authentic Moroccan cuisine, with great service and big portions. It’s also incredibly inexpensive – You can get a large main for about a fiver, which is rare in London. Just don’t expect a big fancy restaurant; cheap and cheerful is definitely their MO. We recommend one of the delicious tagines, with a pot of mint tea to wash it down.
