Finding Jay Chou in London
Published: 23 Mar 17
For many people in London, last weekend was just an ordinary weekend but for most of the Asian community who are living in London, this was an extraordinary weekend. Why? Because this weekend was all about Jay Chou’s The Invincible Concert Tour. You might recognise Jay Chou from the Hollywood movies, Now You See Me 2 or The Green Hornet but asides from acting he is an award winning musician and has broken a number of world records. Jay released his debut album 17 years ago and has released 150 songs so far, with a story behind every lyric and a memory behind every song.
He performed at The SSE Arena, Wembley on the 17th & 18th March for 12,500 people including 2 lucky residents from Chapter Lewisham who won our Rebooker competition. Everyone who attended the concert had an amazing time however that's not all... Jay Chou hosted a competition to remake one of his music videos in London with the winning video being screened at his press conference and at the concert.
After we heard about the competition, we got together with some of our Chapter residents to recreate scenes from his 'Big Ben' and 'What's Wrong' music videos. We decided to shoot the scenes at Westminster Bridge, Hyde Park, Notting Hill and the Sky Lounge at Chapter South Bank. The shooting wasn't easy as the weather wasn't always on our side but all of the hard work paid off when we found out we won the incredible opportunity to share the same stage with Jay.
We have made the following video to remember this unforgettable memory with Jay Chou:
